The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard the NOAA/NASA Suomi NPP satellite snapped this true-color image of the Inner Niger Delta, a large area of lakes in the semi-arid transition zone known as the Sahel between the Sahara and the Sudanian Savanna, on December 2, 2016.
